Mohammed Aminu Mohammed says the National Business and Technical Examination Board (NABTEB) looks to maintain the highest standards in Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET).

The NABTEB registrar spoke during the federal ministry of education’s 3rd quarter global ministerial SERVICOM committee meeting hosted by NABTEB in Edo state on Tuesday.

He said the agency would continue to enhance its processes to ensure integrity and relevance in its certification programmes.

The registrar stressed that NABTEB’s sustained efforts are crucial for upholding the value and employability associated with its certificates.

He said the meeting’s theme, “Bridging Service Delivery Gaps in Technical and Vocational Education: Enhancing Standards, Certification, and Employability,” demonstrates the vital role TVET plays in economic growth.

Mohammed outlined NABTEB’s core mandate, which includes conducting credible technical and business examinations, setting standards, monitoring assessments, and issuing nationally recognised and internationally competitive certificates.

He expressed gratitude to SERVICOM for advocating for service excellence and organising the meeting, which serves as a forum for stakeholders across various sectors to improve service delivery.

Addressing internal matters, Mohammed urged participants to foster a positive work environment where human relations are prioritised, and issued a strict warning against using positions to intimidate colleagues.

He emphasised that rewarding outstanding performance through promotions and benefits is integral to NABTEB’s approach to managing both senior and junior staff.

Yiman Innocent, chairman of the Global Ministerial SERVICOM Committee (GMSC) meeting, noted that SERVICOM, which stands for Service Compact with all Nigerians, embodies a commitment to excellence, accountability, and citizen-centric service delivery.

Kikelomo Aina, assistant director/team leader C SERVICOM office at presidency, commended the ministry of education for sustaining the GMSC.
