The National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC) says its operatives have uncovered a fake healthcare operation at the Community Town Hall in Abuloma, Port Harcourt, Rivers state.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the agency said “individuals posing as missionaries” were administering unregistered drugs and products to unsuspecting residents under the guise of free medical evangelism.
NAFDAC said its officials discovered that the fake practitioners were distributing products such as ‘Evangelist Jenkins Supernatural Water’ and ‘Evangelist Jenkins Eye Drops’ to residents.
The agency said operatives also found other unregistered items falsely claiming to treat conditions like cancer, fibroids, glaucoma, and arthritis being distributed.

“Reports revealed that some users suffered adverse effects, including swollen eyes, which the fake operator falsely described as signs of healing,” the statement reads.
“During the raid, a woman identified as Mrs. Gladies Theophilus was arrested, while the main suspect fled and remains at large.
“NAFDAC has evacuated the counterfeit products to its zonal office and launched a full investigation.”
