Everton super-sub, Steven Naismith, scored a hat-trick as Chelsea’s poor start to the Barclays Premier League season continued with a 3-1 defeat at Goodison Park on Saturday.
The host found themselves 2-0 up after just 22 minutes against the champions with two goals from first-half replacement Naismith who came in for hamstrung Muhamed Besic.
The Scotland forward headed home at the near post and then hammered a powerful shot inside the far post from 20 yards to leave Asmir Begovic stranded.
Nemanja Matic pulled one back for the Blues with a spectacular strike from long range on 36 minutes, but the visitors could not find an equaliser and Naismith completed his treble with an angled drive eight minutes from time.
