Napoli on Wednesday night defeated Juventus on penalties to claim their sixth Coppa Italia trophy in Rome, Italy.

Napoli became the 5th club in Serie A to have won the Coppa Italia after beating Juventus 4-2 on penalty.

The first major cup final since football returned after the worst of the coronavirus pandemic in Europe took place at the Stadio Olimpico and saw a barren draw at the end of regular play time.

After the best chances in the 90 minutes fell to Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala, the Portuguese star could only watch as Juve missed their first two spot-kicks.

Dybala had his shot saved by Alex Meret while Danilo sent his shot over the bar.

Ronaldo could not even step up to take the fifth and last spot kick for the Maurizio Sarri’s side as Arkadiusz Milik made no mistake in converting his own for the Genarro Gattuso’s inspired team.

The Portuguese star player failed to get his hands on one of the few trophies that still eludes him.
