The National Assembly Service Commission (NASC) has approved the appointment of Emmanuel Odo as the acting clerk of the senate.

In a statement on Tuesday, Emmanuel Anyigor, spokesperson of NASC, said Odo’s appointment was approved during the 10th meeting of the sixth commission.

Anyigor said Saviour Enyiekere, executive chairman of the commission, conveyed the decision in a letter he signed.

“I write to inform you that the 6th commission at its 10th meeting held on Tuesday, 16th September 2025, approved your appointment as acting clerk, senate, in the National Assembly with effect from 16/09/2025,” Enyiekere’s letter reads.

“This is in exercise of its powers as provided in Section 6(b) of the.”

Enyiekere said Odo’s elevation was based on his hard work and administrative competence and urged him to uphold the confidence reposed in him by the commission.

Before his appointment, Odo served as deputy clerk of the senate in charge of administration.
