The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) says Aero Contractors paid N257 million in refunds from January to August 2025.
In a statement on Friday, NCAA said the refunds made by Aero increased by 137.4 percent from the same period in 2024 — demonstrating improved compliance with refund regulations.
“Total refund paid January – August 2025 = 257,195,724.39 naira, compared to 108,308,037.40 naira over the same period 2024 and 32,766,652.30 naira in 2023,” the statement reads.
“HOTAC (hotel accommodation) 2025: Total amount reported from January till July 2025 = 6,083,229 naira. (verified records with Cocos Hotel, Grand Cubana Hotel, Abuja, NOCY Castle Hotel, Kim Royal Hotel, JC42 Apartment (Asaba), Mayor & Diplomat Hotel, Lagos.

“The figures above show that there is a remarkable improvement in compliance with Part 19 of the NCAA Regulations 2023.
“While acknowledging the peculiar challenges of our operating environment, the Authority will continue to protect the rights of all stakeholders.”
In December 2024, Michael Achimugu, director of public affairs and consumer protection at NCAA, said the regulator will sanction airlines for delayed ticket refunds.

Achimugu said airlines must strictly adhere to refund timelines as stipulated under Part 19 of the NCAA Regulations of 2023, which seeks to safeguard passenger rights.
The spokesperson added that cash purchases must be refunded immediately, and by cash while refunds for electronic payments, including mobile apps and internet banking must occur within 14 days.
