The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has asked Air Peace to address its incessant flight delays and cancellations.
In a statement on Friday, the NCAA said Chris Najomo, its director-general, spoke during a “heated” meeting with the airline’s management in Abuja.
Najomo was said to have asked Air Peace to improve its domestic operations following persistent complaints of “chronic” flight delays and cancellations by passengers.
“Capt. Najomo strongly advised the airline to trim its operations to the size of available aircraft presently in its fleet to mitigate the crisis,” the statement reads.

The airline assured the director-general that efforts are ongoing to resolve the issues.
According to the statement, Najomo said the NCAA is intensifying its monitoring of flight operations across all domestic carriers to ensure strict compliance with industry standards.
On December 24, 2024, the aviation authority said it sanctioned five airlines for violating Part 19 of NCAA Regulations of 2023.
The airlines were Air Peace, Ethiopian Airlines, Arik Air, Aero Contractors, and Royal Air Maroc.

The authority said the violations included failure to refund passengers within the stipulated time frame, non-responsiveness to its directives, incidents of missing and manhandled luggage, short-landed baggage, and issues relating to flight delays and cancellations.
