The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) says it has invited all domestic airlines to a meeting in Abuja on Wednesday.

In a post on X on Tuesday, Michael Achimugu, director of public affairs and consumer protection at NCAA, said the session will address key issues and will be live on its official social media handles.

Among the matters listed for discussion are unruly passenger behaviour and passenger handling protocols, unresolved refund and compensation issues, as well as the introduction of radio frequency identification (RFID) bagtags and flight monitoring technology.

“The NCAA has invited all domestic airlines to a meeting in Abuja slated for tomorrow, Wednesday,” Achimugu said.

“Among the issues to be treated are unruly passenger behaviour and passenger handling protocols, unresolved refund/compensation issues, introduction of RFID bagtags and flight monitoring technology, enforcement of phone switch-off instruction and protection for cabin crew, and improved travel experience for passengers.

“The meeting will be live on the NCAA’s official social media handles (X and Facebook). To keep abreast, kindly follow @NigeriaCAA.”

The meeting will be held two days after the NCAA announced that Festus Keyamo, the minister of aviation and aerospace development, directed the agency to commence the public shaming of airlines that flout aviation regulations.
