Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi was exceptional despite Leicester City’s 1-0 loss to Atlético Madrid in the first leg quarter-final of the Champions League.

The Nigerian was Leicester’s main man in the middle throughout the game as he snuffed out a number of Atletico’s attacking moves.

Atletico dominated possession but when they do lose the ball, it was often because of the interference from the 20-year old Nigerian.

The Spanish side was awarded a penalty as Marc Albrighton clumsily brought down Antoine Griezmann in the 27th minute.

A replay showed that the contact took place outside the penalty box.

Griezmann gave for Atlético’s lead in the 28th minute from the resultant penalty kick.

Leicester’s Champions League dream remains alive after the narrow, controversial loss.
