The Kaduna command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) says it confiscated about 478kg of illicit substances in the state in November.

This was disclosed in a statement signed by Shuaibu Yusuf-Omale, the command’s spokesperson.

Yusuf-Omale said the command has arrested 90 suspects for drug trafficking, drug dealing and usage, during the period under review.

He listed the seized substances to include cocaine, heroin, cannabis, tramadol, methamphetamine and other psychotropic substances.

Yusuf-Omale said the agency also carried out a sensitisation programme in a bid to reduce the menace of drug trafficking and usage in the state.

“In its efforts to combat the drug scourge in Kaduna state through the drug demand reduction activities, the command carried out numerous sensitisation programmes across the state,” he added.

“This was with the aim of enlightening the citizenry on the ills associated with drug use and illicit trafficking.”
