THE ASSESSMENT VISIT
Omolara Oloruntola, the commandant of the Police College, and other officials received the committee during the visit.
Mbah said the committee was established to restore the pride, confidence, and professionalism in training institutions of security agencies.

He said the visit was to conduct a comprehensive tour of the facilities in the training institutions, starting with the Police College in Lagos, and report to the council.
He said the committee has been divided into two — north and south — noting that Abdullahi Sule, governor of Nasarawa, is leading those who are inspecting facilities in the north.
“The president recognises that there is a need for bold and urgent steps in order to restore the pride and boost professionalism of our men and women in the security space,” Mbah said.
“It is no surprise that the president recently approved the recruitment of an additional 30,000 police personnel for effective policing across the country.

“The president is also passionate about his vision for a trillion-dollar economy; hence, the need to ensure a secure environment that will attract investments.”
Addressing the committee’s members, the commandant reiterated the need for an upgrade of the facilities in the college to meet the standards of modern training for police officers.
