Babatunde Fashola, minister of power, works and housing, believes lost time needs to be regained in order to achieve results.

President Muhammadu Buhari assigned portfolios to his ministers on Wednesday, nearly six months after he won the election.

However, on resumption of duty at the ministry of power, Fashola charged the ministry’s permanent secretary and some directors on the tasks ahead.

He promised to learn from the “career people who have been on the job for a long time”.

“We are here to work with you in solving problems on ground as quickly as possible,” he said.

“We want to know if some of those problems are man-made or systemic. We want information on what has been done, what remained to be done and what are the future plans.

“All these information will assist us as we hit the ground running. We need to do more so as to regain lost time.”
