The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) says power distribution companies (DisCos) generated N199.85 billion revenue in April.

The NERC announced the revenue evaluation in its ‘DisCos commercial performance fact sheet’ for April.

According to the report, the figure represents a 5.81 percent increase from the N188.89 billion revenue collected in March.

The commission said the DisCos realised the revenue from a total billing of N257.57 billion in the month under review.

The NERC report said the figure signifies a 3.09 percent decline from N265.77 billion billed to customers in March.

The April revenue, the agency said, reflects a collection efficiency of 77.59 percent — up from 71.07 percent in the previous month.

According to the factsheet, the total energy received by DisCos was 2,622.46 GWh in April, a 9.16 percent decrease from the 2,886.72 GWh received in the previous month.

The NERC added that DisCos billed a total of 2,184.61 GWh, representing a 5.76 percent decline from 2,318.12 GWh in March.

According to the commission, the average allowed tariff across DisCos was N116.25/kWh, while the actual average collection stood at N90.55/kWh for April.

On July 3, the NERC said DisCos collected a total revenue of N553.63 billion in the first quarter (Q1) of 2025.

The commission said the amount was realised from a total billing of N744.27 billion issued to customers within the period.
