FIFA will hold an extraordinary congress to elect a new president on February 26, 2016.

Sepp Blatter was re-elected as president on May 29 but announced his intention to stand down four days later amid investigations into corruption allegations at football’s world governing body.

Candidates for the position must be nominated before October 26.

By the time of the vote in February, Blatter will have been in office for close to nine months from the date of his June 2nd resignation speech.

But he is not expected to backtrack on his announcement to stand aside, despite appearing to suggest in June he was reconsidering his decision.
