News Central TV appoints Kayode Akintemi as MD

News Central, a media channel focused on telling African stories, has appointed Kayode Akintemi as its managing director and editor-in-chief.

In a statement on Monday, the News Central Television said Akintemi will take the channel to a new level of development and innovation.

The organisation said Akintemi has a proven track record of success and has an experience of over 35 years in leadership roles across various media agencies.

As managing director, he would be in charge of the channel’s operations, content development, and strategic direction.

He would also advance the reporting quality, expand the channel’s digital presence, and promote a culture of excellence among team members.

Akintemi has an interest in mentoring and development and has acquired a qualification in leadership and corporate governance from Harvard University in Boston, the statement said.

Speaking on his new appointment, Akintemi said: “I am honoured to join the News Central team. I look forward to working closely with our dedicated journalists and staff to deliver news and content that informs, engages, and empowers our audience”.

The News Central Television can be viewed on channel 422 on DSTV and 274 on StarTimes.
