The report on the environmental effects of the recent flood incidents in many parts of the country dominated the cover pages of Nigerian newspapers.

The Punch reports that the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari has allocated N81.80 billion for the presidential air fleet maintenance and foreign trips. The newspaper says the federal government has approved the construction of the Lekki-Epe airport.

The Nation reports that Buhari has promised that he will hand over a Nigeria free from insecurity to the next administration. The newspaper explains how the leadership of the house of representatives persuaded the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to review its position on the ongoing strike.

THISDAY reports that 500 people have been confirmed dead, 45,000 houses destroyed, and 70,000 hectares of farmland submerged in the recent flood incidents in many parts of the country. The presidential campaign council of Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is shying away from using the records of Buhari to campaign for the 2023 elections.

Daily Trust says Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, Peter Obi of the Labour Party and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party are yet to commence their presidential campaigns 14 days after the official kick-off. The newspaper says ASUU will review its position on the ongoing strike on Thursday.

Nigeria Tribune says a report from the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has shown how Nigerian doctors and other foreigners are being “exploited” in the United Kingdom. The newspaper reports that Dangote Group said the acquisition of Obajana cement plant followed due process.
