Newspaper Headlines: Again, CBN sacks over 300 staff in restructuring move

The national dailies report that over 3,700 students from 126 institutions have registered for the student loan scheme.

The Nation reports that President Bola Tinubu said Nigerians should task state governors to take their responsibilities seriously. The newspaper says the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has retrenched approximately 200 employees across various departments in a bank-wide restructuring exercise.

 

Guardian says Nigerian troops killed 253 terrorists and arrested 172 in one week.  The newspaper says the federal government has increased the enrollment quota in nursing and medical institutions from 28,000 to 64,000.
Punch reports that Nigerians have scored ministers of power, defence, education, and solid minerals poorly on the citizens’ delivery tracker apps of the federal government. The newspaper reveals that the office of the director, directorate of road traffic services, popularly known as Vehicle Inspection Office (VIO), is selling “express” and “premium” number plates between N100,000 and N120,000.
