The Nation says the suspension of Emefiele by President Bola Tinubu may have been triggered by the probe instituted against him last week by the house of representatives. The newspaper reports that Tinubu said Nigeria could no longer act as Father Christmas to neighbouring countries on the payment of petrol subsidy.

Daily Trust says the Zamfara government has confirmed the operation of the Nigeria Police Force that led to the recovery of 40 vehicles from Bello Matawalle, former governor of the state.
