Newspaper Headlines: Akeredolu rejects FG’s claim that ISWAP is behind Owo attack

Rotimi Akeredolu, governor of Ondo, has rejected the federal government’s claim that the Islamic State West in African Province (ISWAP) is responsible for the attack on St Francis Catholic church in Owo.

The Punch reports that Atiku, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), may consult Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso as running mate. The newspaper says Bola Tinubu, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) may also consider picking Simon Lalong, Nasir El-Rufai or Boss Mustapha as running mate.

 

Daily Independent says Wole Soyinka, Nobel laureate, said he did not pay tribute to Tinubu. The newspaper reports that Rotimi Akeredolu, governor of Ondo, rejected the federal government’s claim that ISWAP is behind the Owo attack.
