Newspaper Headlines: APC February convention uncertain

The comment of the reconciliation panel of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on the crisis rocking the party dominated the cover pages of the Nigerian newspapers.

The Punch reports that the February 26 national convention of the APC is uncertain as the party’s reconciliation panel has asked for an extension. The newspaper says the national assembly has threatened to sanction ministries, departments and agencies over what they described as secret and lopsided recruitments.

The Nation reports that the APC peace panel said ego and perception are factors fuelling division in the party. The newspaper says the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is set to introduce a new bidding regime of foreign exchange that prioritises local manufacturers.

Daily Independent says stakeholders in the maritime sector have lamented the loss of about N1 trillion annually to the absence of a single window platform for operations at the seaports. The newspaper reports that the national assembly has transmitted the revised electoral bill to President Muhammadu Buhari.
