Reports on the presidential primary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) dominated the cover pages of Nigerian newspapers. 

The Punch reports that the refusal of  President Muhammadu Buhari to sign the amended bill of the electoral act, that would have permitted statutory delegates to vote, has altered the voting strength of some states. The newspaper says telecommunication companies have kicked against the N90 billion new telephone tax.

The Nation says Buhari, APC governors and presidential aspirants are expected to meet for high-level discussion ahead of the party’s primaries. The newspaper reports that former ministers and former governors have won the senatorial tickets of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in different states.

Nigerian Tribune reports that 36 state governors have lost the suit against the financial autonomy of local governments. The newspaper says the World Health Organisation (WHO) has warned that COVID-19 is not yet over.

Daily Trust reports that militants of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) have killed a woman, her four children and six others — who are from the northern part of the country — in Anambra state. The newspaper says a group in the APC has warned that the candidacy of former President Goodluck Jonathan for the 2023 presidential election is highly risky.

Daily Sun reports that the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has threatened to shut down major airports over the ongoing strike of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU). The newspaper says 813 delegates will elect the PDP presidential candidate for the 2023 elections.
