Reports on the price war among airlines due to Air Peace’s flight to London, and Eid-el-Fitri messages from Nigeria’s political leaders, permeate the cover pages of today’s dailies. 

The Punch reports that President Bola Tinubu and his predecessor, Muhammadu Buhari, at their separate praying grounds in Lagos and Katsina states respectively, rejoiced with the Muslim faithful on the celebration of the Eid-el-Fitri. The newspaper says the federal government is planning to save N1.5 trillion this year following the recent hike in electricity tariff for Band A customers.

Daily Trust reports that 50 more staff of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) were sacked on Monday. The newspaper says the leadership crisis in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) persists as the north-central zone in the party has insisted on producing the next chairman of the party.

The Nation reports that Aliko Dangote, president of Dangote Group, said the cut in diesel price by his refinery will reduce inflation. THISDAY reports that the Air Peace flight to London from Lagos has sparked a price war among airlines operating in Nigeria. The newspaper says Tinubu has asked Nigerians to prioritise love for their country.
