Newspaper Headlines: Concerns as over 1.5m UTME candidates score below 200

Reports of the federal executive council’s (FEC) approval of the ‘Nigeria First’ policy dominate the frontpages. 

The Punch reports that Bello Matawalle, minister of state for defence, says no fewer than 8,000 bandits have been killed across Nigeria in 2024 under the Bola Tinubu administration. The newspaper says FEC approved N1.81 trillion worth of highway contracts, including projects linking the Lekki Deep-Sea Port to Sagamu-Ore.
