Newspaper Headlines: EFCC threatens to arrest Sadiya Umar Farouq over alleged N37bn fraud

Reports on the rumoured plan to increase the price of petrol and the assurance from the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, permeate the cover pages of the dailies. 

The Punch reports that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has waved off the reported plan by Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the last election, to contest the 2027 election. The newspaper says former President Olusegun Obasanjo said Nigeria and other African countries may find it difficult to secure debt relief considering their large debt profiles.
Daily Trust reports that four people were killed by armed robbers at One-Man Village, near Mararaba, Nasarawa state, on Tuesday. The newspaper says there is growing concern across Nigeria over an imminent increase in the price of petrol.
The Nation reports that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has tracked N30 billion of the N44 billion moved from the accounts of the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA). THISDAY reports that the federal government has directed the office of the accountant-general of the federation to commence 50 percent automatic deduction from the internally generated revenue (IGR) of federal government owned enterprises. The newspaper says the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has released new guidelines to regulate the operations of bank accounts for virtual assets service providers (VASPs), otherwise known as cryptocurrency.
