The newspaper reports that David Umahi, governor of Ebonyi, said the federal government will borrow N1.1 trillion to meet the demands of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

Daily Sun says pressure is mounting on Ayu to resign as PDP national chairman in the spirit of fairness because he is from the same region of the country with the party’s presidential candidate. The newspaper says civil society groups have asked the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) to mobilise for strike owing to the ongoing strike of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
