Reports on the imminent legal battle between the federal government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) dominated the cover pages or Nigerian newspapers.

The Punch says the federal government may lose N7.58 trillion to contract disputes and damages if the court awards the compensation claims filed by local and foreign companies. The newspaper says senior advocates of Nigeria and professors of law are set to defend the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) at the national industrial court.

The Nation says Nigeria’s debt stock has hit N45.25 trillion. The newspaper reports that the number of supreme court justices has dropped to 13 following the retirement of Abdu Aboki, a judge.
