Reports on the reinstatement of Muhammadu Sanusi II as the Emir of Kano permeate the frontpages of Nigerian newspapers.

The Punch reports that David Umahi, minister of works, said the 750 houses that are on the path of the Lagos-Calabar coast highway have been marked for demolition. The newspaper reports the federal government as saying that Nigeria is set to begin local production of military equipment with the recent signing of the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria Bill by President Bola Tinubu.

Daily Trust reports that Muhammadu Sanusi II has been reappointed as the Emir of Kano, four years after his dethronement. The newspaper says Tinubu has ordered a comprehensive review of the recently announced governing boards of Nigeria’s tertiary institutions.

The Guardian reports that the “costly” reforms of Tinubu’s administration is leaving many Nigerians on edge. The newspaper says the house of representatives has passed a bill seeking to reintroduce the old national anthem.

THISDAY reports that Abba Yusuf, governor of Kano, said Sanusi’s reinstatement as Emir of Kano is in the best interest of the state. The newspaper says Vice President Kashim Shettima has announced that the administration of Tinubu has successfully secured potential investments worth more than $20 billion.
