Newspaper Headlines: Governors advise Tinubu against endorsing candidates for n’assembly leadership
Speculations on the leadership positions of the 10th National Assembly dominated the cover pages of Nigerian newspapers.
The Punch says Bola Tinubu, president-elect, and governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have agreed to zone the leadership positions of the 10th national assembly. The newspaper says the federal government is planning a supplementary budget after the national executive council called for the suspension of petrol subsidy removal.
Daily Independent says some of the foreign companies operating in Nigeria may have started quitting the country over the failure of the federal government to refund foreign airlines $744 million in blocked funds. The newspaper reports that President Muhammadu Buhari said the opposition parties lost the 2023 presidential election owing to overconfidence, complacency and bad tactical moves.

The newspaper reports that the federal government disclosed that 1,500 Nigerians in Sudan will arrive in Abuja today.
