Newspaper Headlines: Gunmen kill two evangelists in fresh Plateau attack

Developments on the death and funeral of late former president Muhammadu Buhari continue to dominate the dailies.

Daily Independent reports that Nigeria’s Personal Pension Plan (PPP), formerly Micro Pension Plan (MPP), has recorded low enrolment, stalling progress seven years after its 2019 launch. The paper adds that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the closure of its national secretariat in Abuja in honour of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
The Guardian reports that gunmen have killed two preachers after a church service in Gwon community, Riyom LGA of Plateau, sparking fresh mourning on July 13. Daily Trust reports that four persons have died and many remain trapped after an uncompleted three-storey building collapsed on Abedi Street, Sabon Gari area of Kano on Sunday. The newspaper also says that six farmers were killed and several others injured during a fresh bandit attack in Rijau, headquarters of Rijau LGA in Niger.
