Newspaper Headlines: Interpol joins EFCC in N1.3trn CBEX probe

Reports on how some Nigerians lost millions of naira to the CBEX trading platform permeate the frontpages.

The Punch reports that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) said it would be collaborating with the International Criminal Police Organisation (Interpol) to launch an investigation into the alleged N1.3 trillion fraud perpetrated through a digital investment platform called CryptoBank Exchange (CBEX). The newspaper says the federation account allocation committee (FAAC) has reported a further decline in monthly disbursements to the federal government, states, and local government councils, with N1.578 trillion shared as March 2025 revenue.
