The aftermath of the just concluded governorship primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC) dominated the cover pages of Nigerian newspapers.

The Punch reports that a fresh crisis has hit the APC over the just concluded governorship primaries as some factions boycotted the polls while some organised parallel polls. The newspaper says the federal government has slammed homicide charges against Peter Nwachukwu, husband of Osinachi, the late gospel musician.

The Nation reports that incumbent governors of Lagos, Ogun, Gombe, Yobe, Borno, Nasarawa and Borno states have been given the nod for re-election on the platform of APC. The newspaper says former President Goodluck Jonathan has criticised how political parties’ primaries are being monetised, while calling for the removal of section 84(12) of the electoral act.

The Guardian says the APC is yet to screen its presidential aspirants who have submitted their forms about 72 hours before the presidential primary. The newspaper says President Muhammadu Buhari has promised Nigerian children that his administration will continue to work for their improved welfare.

Daily Trust reports that Buhari, on Tuesday night, met with APC governors on issues regarding the party but did not reveal his preferred presidential candidate. The newspaper says the funding of the trips of Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo for his presidential campaigns has elicited varied reactions.

Daily Sun reports that the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has informed the federal government that the N34 billion released was not part of its demands. The newspaper says hoodlums enforcing sit-at-home in Enugu burnt motorcycles and tricycles.
