The lynching of Deborah Emmanuel, a student of Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto, by her classmates over alleged blasphemy dominated the cover page of Nigerian newspapers.

The Punch reports that former President Goodluck Jonathan will submit his presidential form on Friday. The newspaper says President Muhammadu Buhari has signed the anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism bills.

The Nation says Godwin Emefiele, governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), met with the president 24 hours after the presidential directive asking political appointees seeking elective positions to resign.

The Guardian reports that political appointees seeking elective positions have today to resign or risk the disqualification of the APC. The newspaper says a 200-level student of home economics at Shehu Shagari College of Education was lynched over alleged blasphemy of Prophet Muhammad.

Daily Trust says ahead of the primaries of the two major political parties in the country, hopefuls are currently mopping dollars, leading to further depreciation of the naira. The newspaper reports that criticism trailed the killing of a female student in Sokoto over alleged blasphemy.

Daily Independent says the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been criticised for throwing open his presidential ticket. The newspaper reports that political appointees have instituted legal action against the APC and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over the disqualification threat.
