Newspaper Headlines: Jonathan weighs ADC option amid comeback reports

President Bola Tinubu’s call for religious harmony, and Goodluck Jonathan’s clarification of a comment on Muhammadu Buhari, dominate the frontpages of today’s newspapers. 

The New Telegraph says Tinubu preached unity and religious tolerance during a visit to Plateau during the weekend. The newspaper reports that Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) in Zaria has lost 2,000 staff to local and foreign employers.
THISDAY reports that former president Jonathan has refuted reports claiming he accused the late ex-president Muhammadu Buhari of links to Boko Haram. The newspaper says the defence headquarters (DHQ) relayed that troops recently killed scores of terrorists, while arresting 450 suspects.
The Nation reports that Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, governor of Kwara, and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, are at each other’s throats over the current security challenges in the state. The newspaper says gunmen killed a doctor, kidnapping his three children in Abuja.
Punch reports that Tunde Bakare, founder of Citadel Global Community Church, has said he is under pressure to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC). The newspaper says Jonathan is considering aligning with the ADC ahead of the 2027 general election.
Tribune says bandits have unleashed terror in Kogi, kidnapping seven travellers on a highway, while demanding N100 million in ransom. The newspaper reports that the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has threatened to shut down activities nationwide over a planned strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
