Reports on the face-off between operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) and officials of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) dominate the front pages of Nigerian newspapers.

The Punch reports that President Bola Tinubu is expected to submit the much-awaited ministerial list to the senate for screening in the next 24 hours. The newspaper says the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has declared an indefinite strike.

THISDAY reports that officials of the Department of State Services (DSS) have disobeyed a court order by rearresting Godwin Emefiele, suspended governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). The newspaper says Tinubu has met with Abdullahi Adamu, the former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Iyiola Omisore, former national secretary.

The Nation reports that the shape of Tinubu’s cabinet has become clearer and the president is expected to submit the ministerial list on Wednesday. The newspaper says the national assembly has objected to the proposed electricity tariff hike by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) and the distribution companies (DisCos).

Daily Sun reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has warned political parties against the use of thugs to harass election officials. The newspaper says CBN has raised the interest rate to 18.75 percent.

Daily Independent reports that lawyers have criticised the rearrest of Emefiele by the DSS, despite a court order ruling that he be remanded at the correctional centre. The newspaper says the court of appeal in Abuja has discharged Sule Lamido, former governor of Jigawa state, and his two sons, over N712 million money laundering allegation.
