Reports on the demolition of the Rivers house of assembly complex and the state of the economy, dominate the cover pages of Nigerian newspapers.

The Punch reports that the crisis in Rivers state has assumed another dimension after the state government demolished the house of assembly complex. The newspaper says the Defence Headquarters said it has opened an investigation into the December 3 accidental bombing of Tundun Biri community in Kaduna state.

Daily Trust reports that the World Bank said the federal government may still be paying for petrol subsidy as fuel prices in Nigeria are currently not cost-reflective.
