Newspaper Headlines: Natasha Akpoti to serve out suspension as senate goes on recess

Reports on the emergence of Nentawe Yilwatda, minister of humanitarian affairs and poverty reduction, as national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) dominate the dailies.

The Punch reports that Rakiyat Musa, a 59-year-old woman, was arraigned at Igbosere court in Lagos for allegedly impersonating a customs officer and committing fraud of over N34 million. The paper adds that the senate has adjourned till September 23, meaning Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, Kogi senator, will serve out her suspension before plenary resumes.
The Nation reports that President Bola Tinubu says the APC will keep expanding by welcoming more opposition governors, lawmakers, and other members into its fold. The paper says Nentawe Yilwatda, the newly appointed national chairman of the APC, says he will work with members of the ruling party to fix and drive it to the desired destination.
