Newspaper Headlines: Nentawe Yilwatda may emerge APC national chairman

Developments ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) national executive council (NEC) meeting dominate the front pages on Thursday.

Vanguard Newspaper reports that Rotimi Amaechi, former minister of transportation, says the coalition leaders will fully support the African Democratic Congress (ADC) eventual presidential candidate for the 2027 general election.The paper adds that President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday night met with governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the party’s national executive committee (NEC) meeting scheduled for Thursday, July 24.
Daily Independent reports that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees (BoT) says the ADC would not gain traction in the 2027 election. The newspaper adds that the Nenadi Usman faction of the Labour Party (LP) says the leadership dispute in the party has been resolved by the supreme court.
