Newspaper Headlines: Niger Republic prevents entry on Katsina, Jigawa borders

The newspapers extensively focus on the increase in the nation’s headline inflation to 31.7 percent — the highest in 28 years.

Guardian reports that the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) says Nigeria’s headline inflation rate increased to 31.70 percent in February 2024. The newspaper says internet outage has crippled business operations in Nigeria.

 

Punch reports that Abdulaziz Yar’Adua, senator representing Katsina central, has replaced Abdul Ningi, the suspended senator, as the chairman of the northern senators’ forum.
