Reports on the state of the nation, especially the rising insecurity dominated the cover pages of Nigerian newspapers.

The Punch reports that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has backed the comment made by prominent Nigerians regarding the country’s rising insecurity. The newspaper says gunmen killed 10 people and injured 19 others during a festival in Plateau state.

The Nation says the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has asked the federal government to wage a total war on terrorists in the country. Enoch Adeboye, general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has said he will not endorse any presidential candidate for the 2023 election, the newspaper reports.

Daily Independent says experts have called for the devaluation of the naira to control the country’s external imbalances. Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has bemoaned the country’s rising insecurity, saying nowhere is safe in Nigeria, the newspaper reports.

Daily Sun reports that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) zoning committee will decide the party’s zoning arrangement for its presidential ticket, tomorrow. The newspaper says the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has assured the electorate that their votes will count in the governorship elections in Ekiti and Osun states.

The Guardian reports that the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) has asked Nigerians to vote out governors who are working against the autonomy of LG in the country. The newspaper says Orji Kalu, chief whip of the senate, has asked the All Progressives Congress to unveil its zoning formula for the presidential election.
