Newspaper Headlines: PDP unveils zoning panel, dispels Jonathan, Obi talks

Reports on President Bola Tinubu’s directive to the ministry of finance, on reviewing all deductions and revenue retention practices, take centre stage on the frontpages.

 

The Punch reports that members of the national working committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are split over purported moves to bring Goodluck Jonathan and Peter Obi back to the fold before the 2027 polls. The newspaper adds that the management of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) has demanded N3.5 billion in compensation and a public apology from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over the alleged invasion of its premises on Sunday.
The Nation reports that Tinubu has directed the ministry of finance to review all deductions and revenue retention practices by key revenue-generating agencies. The paper says the federal executive council (FEC) on Wednesday approved a seven-year ban on the establishment of new federal tertiary educational institutions across the country.
THISDAY reports that a magistrate court in Ikeja has struck out the charges filed against Comfort Emmanson, the passenger who was accused of assaulting airline officials on an Ibom Air flight from Uyo to Lagos.
