Newspaper Headlines: Tinubu’s successor tussle fuels 2027 vice-president slot battle

Reports on the senate’s approval of a second extension of the 2024 capital budget implementation to December 2025 pervade the front pages.

The Punch reports that despite the presidency saying President Bola Tinubu will pick his 2027 running mate after the All Progressives Congress (APC) convention, the battle for the vice-president slot persists. The newspaper says the president and members of the national assembly are facing criticisms from various quarters over the decision to extend the 2024 budget implementation.
