NFF confirms Kaduna for Nigeria, Chad AFCON qualifier

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has confirmed Kaduna as the venue for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier between Nigeria and Chad.

The Super Eagles will begin their AFCON 2017 campaign on June 13 when they host Chad at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna.

Mohammed Sanusi, general secretary of the NFF, said that logistics will be put in place for the encounter.

“Kaduna has been chosen as host city for the game which will be played at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium,” he told supersport.com.

“All the logistics will be put in place to ensure for a hitch-free encounter on June 13.”

The choice of Kaduna as the venue of the match was given the thumbs-up by Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi.

“If the NFF has decided that the game will be played in Kaduna I have no problems with it. I am sure it is going to be the same for the players,” he said.

“Kaduna has hosted games played by the Super Eagles in the past and everything went well.

“The fans there are wonderful and the pitch is in great condition, so no problems at all.”

Egypt and Tanzania are the other countries in Group G of the qualifying round with Nigeria and Chad.
