The FIST Africa and the Madiba Foundation for Good Governance have partnered to provide financial support and educational resources to students and schools in Abuja.

The representatives of the groups donated desks, chairs, whiteboards, and other essential teaching aids to LEA primary school in the Kabusa area of Abuja.

Elizabeth Fred-Adetiba, the executive director of FIST Africa, said the initiative is built on the organisation’s commitment to ensuring that “no child is denied access to education due to financial limitations.”

“Education is a fundamental right. We are honoured to collaborate with the Madiba Foundation to contribute to the betterment of LEA Primary School, Kabusa,” she said.

“This initiative builds upon FIST Africa’s earlier commitment to the school, demonstrated by covering the school fees of nine underprivileged pupils and adopting six children for full scholarship support through the university level.”

Abubakar Mohammed, the headmaster of the school, appreciated the not-for-profit organisations for their contribution to the knowledge development and financial empowerment of students.

“I extend sincere gratitude to both organizations for their impactful contribution. The students are excited about the new furniture,” he said.

According to the groups, the furniture and supply donation represents the first stage of a broader initiative.

The second phase will involve a comprehensive needs assessment of all public primary schools within the federal capital territory (FCT), beginning with 158 schools in the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC).
