Nigeria records three new COVID cases — lowest daily count in 2022

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) says three people tested positive for coronavirus on Saturday.

NCDC made this known in its latest coronavirus update published for March 5, 2022.

Saturday’s figure was the lowest number of daily COVID-19 cases in 2022 so far.

A breakdown of new cases showed that the states that reported the infections were Katsina (2) and Kaduna (1).

No death was recorded from COVID-19 complications, leaving the tally at 3,142.

Meanwhile, the daily count of recoveries increased slightly, with 11 patients discharged on Saturday, increasing the total to 249,171.

Since the index case was recorded in February 2020, Nigeria has confirmed 254,640 coronavirus infections.
