Jose Peseiro, Super Eagles head coach, has announced the starting line-up for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) second round clash against Cameroon.

The coach unveiled the line-up ahead of the scheduled 9 pm kick-off time on Saturday.

William Troost-Ekong returns to the team and will captain Nigeria against the Rigobert Song-led Indomitable Lions at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium in Abidjan.

Peseiro kept faith with the 3-4-3 formation, with Stanley Nwabali in goal behind the defensive trio of Troost-Ekong, Semi Ajayi, and Calvin Bassey, while Ola Aina and Zaidu Sanusi will be on both flanks as wingbacks.

Alex Iwobi will start in the midfield alongside Frank Onyeka. Moses Simon, Ademola Lookman and Victor Osimhen will lead the front line.

The line-up omits Kenneth Omeruo, Samuel Chukwueze, Bright Osayi-Samuel and Joe Aribo, who all featured against Guinea-Bissau on Thursday.

Yusuf Alhassan is also not included despite shaking off the injury he copped against Equatorial Guinea.

The Eagles qualified for the AFCON second round after picking seven points from three games in Group A, while Cameroon had to rely on a stoppage time winner in their last group match to progress.

Super Eagles starting XI against Cameroon:

Stanley Nwabali, Calvin Bassey, Semi Ajayi, William Troost-Ekong, Ola Aina, Sanusi, Zaidu, Alex Iwobi, Frank Onyeka, Moses Simon, Ademola Lookman, Victor Osimhen
