Nigerian athletes ‘not under pressure’ to deliver at Youth Olympic Games

Olusola Olusade, permanent secretary, ministry of youth and sports, says Nigerian athletes are not under pressure to deliver at the Youth Olympic Games.

According to Olusade, the athletes have the passion to deliver during the competition.

“Our athletes are not under pressure to deliver for Nigeria in the Youth Olympic Games,” Olusade told TheCable.

“They are mentally prepared to make the country proud in Argentina.

“The youngsters have fully settled down for the challenges that await them. I’m sure that they understand the tasks ahead of them.”

“I don’t think the athletes will be under pressure to perform in the competition.

“They are passionate people who are excited to represent Nigeria at an international event.”

The 2018 Youth Olympic Games kicked off in Argentina on Saturday.
