NIPOST board promotes 70 senior officers

The governing board of the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) has approved the promotion of 74 senior officers in the organisation.

The promoted officers are among those who participated in the recent promotions examinations conducted for eligible officers of the organisation by the ministry of communications and digital economy.

In a statement, Franklyn Alao, NIPOST general manager for corporate communications, said among those promoted are four deputy directors who were elevated to the substantive rank of director.

He said other beneficiaries of the promotion exercise are 23 assistant directors who were promoted to the rank of deputy directors while 48 officers on grade levels 14 were promoted to the ranks of assistant directors.

Maimuna Abubakar, NIPOST board chair, said the exercise will be conducted annually.

She said all eligible staff will be given the opportunity to partake in both written and oral interviews in subsequent promotion exercises.

She added that her administration will continue do its best to support the NIPOST management in achieving its objectives.

While congratulating the officers for their performances during the exercise, Ismail Adewusi, postmaster-general of the federation and chief executive officer of NIPOST, charged the beneficiaries to bring to bear their wealth of experiences in contributing to the progress and development of the organization.

Adewusi also urged the promoted officers to develop creative ways of improving NIPOST services in fulfilment of organisation’s mandates.
