Nizamiye Hospital Abuja on Saturday celebrated the International Nurses Day in Abuja to mark the invaluable contributions of nurses in Nigeria and all over the world.

According to the public relations officer of the hospital, Mohammed Abubakar, “Nurses play a vital role in the lives of people, and for this reason, we are celebrating our nurses and other nurses around the world.”

He further added that as a part of the celebrations; nurses from the hospital visited an orphanage home in Kuje area council in Abuja, federal capital territory to celebrate the day with children.

International Nurses Day  is celebrated every year all around the world on May 12 to commemorate the birth anniversary of the Florence Nightingale and to mark the nurses’ contributions towards people’s health.
