The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) has directed oil marketers in Katsina state with expired licences to renew without delay.

Muhammad Omar, NMDPRA controller in Katsina, gave the directive during a meeting with the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Katsina chapter, on Wednesday.

Omar said the renewal of expired licences must be done immediately as required by law, warning that any oil marketer who fails to comply with operational and licensing rules would face disciplinary action.

He also cautioned residents and petrol users against storing petroleum products in their homes due to the current intense heat, noting the increased risk of fire and other dangers.

He said the listed measures are aimed at protecting lives and property during the hot season in the state.

Aminu Ahmed, chairman of the Katsina IPMAN, commended Omar’s efforts and pledged full cooperation to uphold safety and regulatory standards.
