All federal government ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) have been barred from advertising job vacancies.

Danladi Kifasi, the head of service of the federation, said on Thursday that this is to checkmate “indiscriminate employments and promotions” that have bloated the payroll.

At a meeting withtop officials of MDAs in Abuja, Kifasi directed that since the 2015 budget is still before the national assembly, they should send all employment vacancies to his office by the end of next month.

He said government has decided to go back to the proper system of accurate manpower planning and manpower budget defence.

Personnel cost requirements will now be included in the 2016 budget in accordance with new budgeting rules, he said.

This is another drastic measure taken by the federal government following the crash in crude oil prices.

Kifasi has, early February, announced a ban on official foreign trips in order to save personnel costs.
